Winter has a certain charm in NYC- there is ice skating in Central park, Bryant park and Rock center. I love the glistening snow on a sunny winter day in the city. With the snow covered trees, and people shoveling (despite not seeing any snow, it was blistering cold but wrap up warm and get some good photos)

All the "must dos" are still doable and you can avoid some of the crowds and depending on how late in Jan.
